Tomorrow we set off on a holiday for three weeks, on an unescorted tour, set up for us at fairly short notice by the travel arm of the Ffestiniog Railway.

Both of us are now unemployed, but the sale of our house has now completed and with the future extremely unclear we are taking some of the money and running for a short while.

Woah, sorry to hear about the jobbies but for now - enjoy life and this tour. It sounds fab!

Myself and a vegetarian friend had a little difficulty finding restaurants in French/Switzerland when we were out there, I was going to recommend the cheese fondue as a meat-free tasty option, but as a vegan I'm guessing the cheese is a no-no?

Have found a few possibilities for vegan/veg eating via the happy cow site, but mostly will be winging it as we go!
