I'd wanted to include an analysis of the emails I got afterwards, from NGLTF and dyke march and women's studies people. Nobody wanted to plan celebrations for electing a president who said, on record, multiple times, during an election campaign, that he supported trans inclusion in ENDA just protests about prop 8. remember that some of us have priorities other than marriage, or hell lives outside of marriage...

Me being one of those. Marriage is very low on the list for me ... way lower than replacing the job that I was pressured to leave just this week.

Yes, this is a time to savor the moment, to be glad that our foreign policy will be in the hands of a sane man whose ego won't lead him to bully others and to feel a bit more sanguine about the future of the Supreme Court. Obama has more on his plate than most humans can deal with; may he rise to the occasion. Thank goodness we did it and elected someone smart, thoughtful and compassionate.
