She'd made her decision earlier today, and Gabrielle realized she had to check in with Emmett before she left, to make sure he knew she'd be back eventually.

. . . this was going to be awkward, wasn't it?

"If by a while you mean for good." Emmett had a few issues with using that word for going back to Hazlehurst, but it did the job. "My aunt's sick, and God knows nobody else in the family is gonna look after her."

It was quite possible Dandelion never learned Emmett's name.

"I have coupons for free cheddar biscuits at the lobster place and- Wait. Hold on. Something is different here."

C'mon, Dandelion. There are suitcases. There are clothes being packed.

"You're moving in with me!" she squealed happily.

"Well, okay but I only have four coupons for cheddar biscuits," Dandelion said holding up the coupons of questionable nature. "She can only one coupon and can sleep under my bed."
