Hey, ladies (or the rare guy) on my f-list - do you remember any of those handclap games from elementary school? Some of the girls here want to learn them, and I can't remember them for the life of me.

(I think I remember Miss Mary Mack, but...)

japan, help plz

I think the site linked to above has all the ones I know, possibly in different variants.

While it may be a bit *too* comprehensive, here is a page where a bunch of hand-clapping/jump rope/etc. rhymes have been collected with a bit of history and some videos here & there to show the hand clapping that goes with them. They do seem to be listed alphabetically if you want to search for one in particular.

Personally I remember Miss Susie had a steamboat, Miss Sue from Alabama, Great green gobs... and yeah I was also reminded of Down, Down Baby. There was also one with Batman & Robin that I knew that called for 4 people to the tune of Rockin' Robin (and might have actually devolved into the real song's chorus after the parody verse). I remember the verse & clapping - let me know if you want it.

Rockin' Robin was a good one for four people. "She rocks in the tree top, all day long..."

Miss Suzy, Down Down Baby (Down by the Roller Coaster), Numbers, I Don't Wanna Go to Mexico..., Slide, Engine Engine Number Nine...

I feel like this should be a Skype thing, though. Because you need to see the clapping!
