Uhm, wow

I just finished catching up on Doctor Who - Midnight and Turn Left.

Midnight-

The Doctor goes on a sightseeing excursion and gets stuck in a small transport ship with a half a dozen passengers, 3 crew members, and a copycat. You'd think that would be a rather boring storyline, wouldn't you? Well I certainly would... and I felt it did drag a bit... but it was also quite terrifying! Seeing as I'm not 8 anymore, I don't really find the big ugly monsters terrifying. But things like statues and shadows and enclosed spaces/mass hysteria... since these are all real things, things I encounter in the real world, that makes them more terrifying! I also feel the same way about The Empty Child, though I'm really not sure how this explanation fits that.

Also, yay! Troughton love! Although I was a bit disappointed in his lack of a character (much preferred his assistant!) still it was fun to see another Doctor's offspring this series (sheesh! anymore out there?) I'm glad he wasn't wearing his King Peladon outfit though. And I'm also hopeful Sam doesn't end up looking like his dad when he gets older, sorry.

Turn Left-

1) My head hurts.

2) OMG CATHERINE TATE IS MADE OF AWESOME!

She blew me away in this episode. I mean, I've slowly been coming to appreciate her more and more throughout the series (and btw, if you like CT and you thought Little Miss Sunshine was brilliant/funny you might appreciate Mrs. Radcliffe's Revolution) but her range & performance in this ep blew me away. RTD also blew me away a little bit going where he did with the work camps and stuff - WOW. And yes, I did cry, how did you guess?

This ep had me very tense, and while it did hurt my head, and some parts really bothered me (like ridiculous rubber beetle and singing immigrant man) there were other parts I really liked.

Oh and I totally agree with all the people who were saying Billie acted/sounded like she had new teef? I knew something was bothering me about Rose, and that's definitely part of it.

Trailer-

Well they certainly aren't leaving anyone out, are they? I mean, I like when Capt Jack comes back to Who, because I like him better as he is there, but the Torchwood team? And Sarah Jane & her groupies? And Martha and UNIT? Sheesh. I have to wonder, since I don't watch the Sarah Jane Adventures, will I miss out on a lot? And the same goes for people who don't watch Torchwood... As I'm writing this, I'm wondering why Martha & UNIT didn't get their own spinoff... yet...
