Back from eating and drinking our way thru another snow boarding trip to New Zealand. Was a great trip, starting to get the hang of Snowboarding, ventured onto quite a few blue runs and a couple of slow placed black runs. New Zealand is a great place to drive around, tho some of the mountains can be a bit intimidating in a piece of shit small car ( Read more... )

I know where you are coming from regarding the crappy-little-car-syndrome! I shit-scared myself a few times, trying to drive on an icy gravelled road surfaced with very little grit, down a stupidly steep mountain side in a crappy-crappy-CRAPPY underpowered Suzuki roll-me-if-you-lean-too-far Ignus!

I mean, the skiing is bloody fantastic up on top with a few hair raising moments, but it's the skiing down the side of a mountain in an uncontrolled metal box thats REALLY shit scarey!

Also, go here, sign up. We ALL want this :-D

Yeah, treble cone was a shocker!! the car we had really sucked, and there was about 25 metres of visability at the top carpark with the cloud cover. Must have had the only none 4x4 there, in really shitty conditions. Did one run down the mountain then the lifts were closed, the top of the lift had gale force winds blowing snow into your face, which was stinging like shit!! By far the steapest drive I think

Thank you for your considered comments re Steve. So many I know found his manner abrasive but his efforts in conservation to be magnificent and the tall-poppy Australian bullshit is pissing me off today.

Perhaps those that whine might like to get off their lard arses and actually explore what is going on outside in the natural environment. His life was cut short but he packed more into it than many, many people I know.
