Wow, this did seem like a bit of a crowd-pleaser. Not that I'm not happy about the fact that R/Hr seems to be heading towards resolution but; really.

There is just NOT enough Hermione in this book. I want the brains, man!

Hey, she attacked Ron with kamakazie canaries, man!

Also, it does seem rather CoS like in that the titular aspect of it is hardly featuring very prominently, is it? And there is, of course, a book. But just what part of Harry's experience will the HBP form, apart from making life easier for him at Potions et cetera?

Hmmm. I'm really inclined to support Snape's obvious claim now. But!

Oh, shipping. Bleh.

I want my smart Hermione back. And I want Harry not to have had that horrible jealously moment. God, can't relationships start any other ways?

Bleh, bleh, bleh. I like it in my fic, not my canon.

Oh, shipping. Bleh.

My thoughts exactly. Can we get back to the plot, please?

Big massive ditto, especially on the smart Hermione. First the Confunding, now this -- she seems massively OOC.

Oh, right, because people never behave in a manner that is "out of character" for them when they develop feelings for someone... ;)
I think it's perfectly in character -- particularly when you consider the fact that, despite her blustering, Hermione isn't much more experienced in the romance department than Ron or Harry. ::shrug::

"[Harry] had had an inkling this might happen..."

Um, no. Harry has never ever thought of R/Hr in any of the previous books, Ms Rowling. Stop making things up, especially when it's done as moronically as this bit.

There's that bit in GoF where Ron and Hermione are squabbling over Hermione's decision to take Viktor Krum to the ball, and Harry thinks to himself that Ron's upset because he didn't think to ask her instead.

That's fair! It's not as if he would keep that in the forefront of his mind, when he might be trying to ignore it for the sake of--well, exactly what he was thinking in this chapter. How their friendship will weather romance.

That's entirely not what Harry was thinking. Harry thought Hermione "got the point better than Ron" and he doesn't expound on what he thinks the "point" is.

Nope, this came out of nowhere, as did a lot of the romance stuff in the book.
