So what's with the name "Spinner's End"? That's so interesting I feel like it has to mean something (like Remus "my parents named me Wolfy McWolfenpants" Lupin). Is it just the fairly straightforward analogy of Snape spinning his different lines to different people, creating this web of lies that he has to maintain, etc.? The problem is, I'm thinking too hard, because when I think of "spinner" I think of the fates (yes? with the weaving and the spinning and the clipping?). Is there something we can read into that, perhaps?

So much for all the fanon about Snape Manor/Mansion/whatever-else. Although it does fit. Narcissa and Bellatrix were absolutely fabulous.

When I finished ch. 1, I was sure the next will be the Harry+Dursleys usual intro. I'm sooo glad I was wrong, this is so much better. I suppose it's partially because it's something altogether new and shiny...

Well, he could still have a Snape Manor, I suppose. . .I see this almost as a working house, provided for him by the Dark Lord, (wow, I almost just typed "Dork Lard". . .um. . .) to do his eeevil potions work. Or something. Judging by his teenage reaction to Lily, I can't see him making a home too close to anything Muggle.

Can you point me to where it confirms that Bella is older than Narcissa? Because I went back and re-read the chapter and still didn't see anything about that.
