Dumbledore at his finest! Revel in the cryptic, powerful coolness. :D

OMG, what's wrong with his hand??? The "serious injury" Snape mentioned -

*thwaps Kreacher, moves on to Ch. 4*

Hee! I love Dumbledore again. And Harry is such a teenage boy.

"I must say, your agapanthus are flourishing."

If one wants to read too much into little details (or consider Dumbledore as very obscurely ironic), agapanthus are also known as South African Lilies or Lilies of the Nile. Google also reveals that the name is derived from the Greek "agape" (spiritual love) and "anthos" (flower).

wouldn't say I like snarky, injured, tired Dumbledore, but at least I finished this chapter without thinking "Harry, you need to go all caps lock on him some more - I don't think he really gets it."

.... that was great!

Yes, I think I might actually be liking Dumbledore for the first time since, oh, about the first book. He seems to be dealing with Harry on a slightly more mature, equal level, as though he realizes that he screwed up rather badly with the kid previously. But, it's still early in the book...

he can be so humorously rude to the Dursleys in such a way as to completely prevent Vernon's blowup while still making fun of him

Oh yes, love of Dumbledore at the moment. Finally telling the Dursleys off. Finally. And getting him out of the Dursleys early. finally. No wonder Harry doesn't trust much - not packing his trunk, etc.

The beginning of the chapter... I'm visualizing Harry snoring, his glasses askew, his mouth open... Isn't he a sexy thing? :)

I agree with you people that my dislike of Dumbledore has been somewhat quietened thanks to this chapter. And he's had some great lines, as he used to before OOTP.

So we know now that side-apparition is possible, and we are left wondering what the *hell* inferi is.

I'm guessing Inferi are creatures of some sort - demons, based on the etymology.

I so wanted morrrrrrrrrrre from the Dursleys in this chapter. I loved the set-up, but I wanted more confrontation and accusations from all sides. Petunia/Albus!! Dudders fic! more more!

Petunia really does come up as brighter than her husband and son, doesn't she? Flushing as Dudley puzzles over how he could be abused.

Hunh.
