I'm glad we got to know more about Blaise in this one. He's one of those characters that is never really given much details in the book but examined in depth (without any real basis) in fan fics.
As for Slytherin stereotypes, it is kinda annoying.

He wasn't, after all, evil. So far he's done nothing that shouted 'Dark Lord'. Sure, he's a bit stuck up and refined - very pure blood like - but other than that he fails to be evil.
