Rosmerta's recovery from being placed under the Imperius Curse (Chapter 12, Silver and Opals) and her reaction to having been used by Death Eaters. Was it the first time?

Okay, so I went back to my "initial impressions" post from right after I finished reading HBP. Here are some prompt idea to come out of that:

* (Chapter 14) What if, instead of throwing a collective hissy-fit, either Harry or Hermione had explained the story of Dumbo's feather to Ron?

* What if Harry (or possibly Hermione) had recognized Snape's handwriting in the book?

* Did Lily know about Remus's "furry little problem"? If so, did she find out before or after she and James were married? Dating?

* can anyone come up with even a semi-reasonable explanation of why Hermione and Fleur both turned into utterly irritating caricatures in this book?! (sorry, they both drive me nuts in hbp!)

* If everyone's maths are correct (don't start...), McGonagall would have been about 2 years older than Tom Riddle. What are her memories of him? Might she have known him? Does she know that Tom Riddle = LV?

What was *really* going on with Tonks?

Personally, I think a great many of her scenes in HBP make the most sense if she's actually a death eater spy Polyjuiced as Tonks and trying to get information out of Harry. (Of course, DH pokes big holes in this idea, but I often find myself imagining that DH does not exist...)

I remember taking notes as I read HBP for the first time, and I was convinced Tonks was a polyjuiced Death Eater. Really bizarre!

why is it that i've never seen *anyone* write that, ever?? you'd think the idea would be more popular. :p

I read a great fic that used that exact idea, but it was right after HBP came out and I didn't bookmark it, so finding it now would be near impossible. :(

Something to do with Slughorn and Tom Riddle. Did Riddle ever make Slughorn's wall of fame? When did Slughorn admit that Riddle was evile?

What's Neville up to while Harry's off chasing Horcruxes and pining after Ginny?

McGonagall's letter to Augusta regarding Neville's NEWT choices and the importance (or not) of Transfiguration versus Herbology.

Oh, I do hope this means that they've kept the Minerva-says-she'll-write-to-Augusta scene in the movie. I was sure they would cut it, and it's one of my favorites.

I'm off to see the film tomorrow. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the Minerva/Neville scene. I've seen a still from the movie showing McG in the Great Hall laden with parchments, so I'm hopeful. It's one of the very few scenes she has in the book, so if it's not there, I'm not sure she'll be in the movie at all!
