good, I hope that this kind of thing has an impact on changing the current laws, which don't allow government funds to be used for ANY stem cell research, including adult stem cells.
When asked about the embryonic stem cell research debate, Prentice noted, “No human beings have even been injected yet” in embryonic stem cell research. Published science, however, has verified the successful treatments of thousands of patients using adult stem cells."
There's a slight "tone" here that I can't quite put my finger on, like it sounds like it's supposed to make the reader think that embryonic stem cells are useless or not as useful as adult stem cells. The thing is, the reason that they haven't been tested extensively is because of the previous government funding bans that I mentioned. I mean, it may be that adult stem cells are just as effective as embryonic stem cells. But we're not going to know until we can do extensive testing and find out.
