I love documetnaries. i prefer nature, history, archeology or palentogy but will watch just about anything I see more then two seconds of. We watched a wonderful nature doc on sailfin last night, narrated by my beloved David Attenborough. Fabulous and beautiful!!!! Marg and I both love to watch them and when I see ads for something we always make

Another thing to keep on the look out for is "Frozen Planet." It might not make it to Canada for a while yet, as it is only just being shown here. But certainly worth a look if you can get it.

I'm so disappointed [understatement] by the cheap shows the so-called educational channels show. Ice road trucking and pawn shops are merely boring. Much worse is the endless spew of Nostradamus, and mythical monsters, and UFOs. Those shows undermine critical thinking. Even when they include debunkers, they always end up with, "But you don't have to pay attention to the people who say these things don't exist. Believe because you want to!"

I really hate the war on nature shows that A&E seem fascinagted with. Swamp People, Hog Hunters, Gold Mine, Loggers. It's all very disturbing.

Overall, though, they're really scraping the bottom of the barrel to run "reality" shows so they don't have to actually spend any money producing shows. I mean, seriously, competitive whisker growing?
