Napoleon Dynamite

Haven't seen it yet, but it's coming to us from zip.ca sometime this week - hooray and ha-za!

We're also getting Bowling for Columbine, which I will not force Jonathan to watch with me. I'm excited, though!

I own a copy of Bowling for Columbine (there was a deal at Blockbuster once that made it cheaper to buy because I was already buying a used movie & they had it for half price if I bought one). It's not bad but obviously biased (the Canadians don't lock their doors because they aren't afraid bit is what made me wonder since I'm so paranoid & always lock my doors & also happen to be Canadian living in Canada).

Let me know how Napoleon Dynamite is. I was thinking of checking it out but wasn't sure.

Yeah, even my relatives in small-town NB have started locking their doors (at least when they're not home, while us bigger-town/city folk tend to lock our doors at all times). However, they are still leaving their cars unlocked with the keys in them... I think this is primarily because everybody knows everybody, so noone's going to get very far with someone else's car without somebody calling someone about it.

i liked bowling for columbine a lot better then farenheit 911...the latter bored me while i was laughing at the truisms he states so blatant and obvious...jmo, what did you think?

Yeah, I just watched Bowling for Columbine and it WAS a lot better than F-911. I also found F-911 quite boring and found his implying tone very very tiring and annoying. He did that a little bit in Bowling, but it was a lot better put together and he was way more inquisitive, etc.

I'm getting the feeling that he just threw F-911 together super quickly and haphazarly without that much thought because he knew it would be a huge sell regardless of what it was like... Hmmm, I guess I'm saying/thinking that Michael Moore has sold out. To what? Hmmmm, perhaps the obesity of Americans?

I like Bowling enough to try to convince Jonathan to watch it with me. I haven't convinced him yet (and I suspect that I never will), BUT I have told him some things from the movie that surprised me AND also surprised him (positive surprises about Michael Moore's take on things).

Yeah, I'd definitely recommend Bowling for Columbine! If only to see cool interviews with Matt Stone and Marilyn Manson!
