This may seem to be hideously advanced warning but we have a request for a small 18th century display at the Regimental head quaters in Bury on Sunday the 16th of March 2008

Sorry that confused the crap out of me some how i had managed to click a button that ment that your comment was emailed to me but i couldn't see the thing on here!!! I mean what kind of a stupid Elvish invention is that?
Rant over... Yes more fun with guns and frockcoats is allways a good idea isn't it and what a nice way to celebrate your birthday. Wonder if we can get in the Naffi bar there, hmmmmm booze without tax on it!!!!!
I'm definitely up for that, as you know. I think some information about the formation of the militias and their subsequent transition into the formal regiments would be useful, as well as the fact that legislation was passed to limit the extravagance of militia uniforms as these were tempting potential recruits away from the regular army... Also the sheets of canvas with the shot patterns from the blunderbuss and the swivel gun could be interesting.
Oh yes and given this ammount of warning we can have it all ready in good time. I shall be buying a proper Lee lead pot then for the ammount of bullet casting i shall be doing in the near future. Other good news is Andy Robinson knows our favourite Kent village: Goudhurst very well as he used to Fish close by. He wants the info on the battle, fingers crossed we can get him and Wookie to organise something down there. Also deff getting the garden furniture to do the conversion on it for Ellesmere Port so we shall christen the HCGV tent in style sir.
