My good friend's mother died of breast cancer about 4 years ago. It was terrible :(. Breast cancer awareness is fantastic, but I agree; just showing people recovering isn't enough. Sugar-coating it may be best for TV commercials, but that's not the way it is at all.

And, fab art, as usual. Your style is so refreshing and lovely to view, obvs.

Yup. I think they fail to capture the true affects of it when all they show are the supertough people who have recovered. I don't think sugarcoating does all that much good, really. They do the same thing with diseases though- look at how they never show AIDs victims unless they are healthy looking children in Africa?

It just angers me how they leave out what the real disease is and have celebrities going 'this is serious' instead of showing the true horrors of it.

I'm glad you like the art. :) Aw, thanks for the compliment on my style! :D

Great pics!

I work in a hospital and we organised on friday a Breast Cancer course (for everybody) and the same issue got adressed there too, specially regarding the breast reconstructions. That it's not that easy and nice.

I like your Dumbledore, allthough he looks a bit like Gandalf :)

Yeah, people don't want to hear that there might not be enough tissue, or that they will look like a cut up ham for a few years. :( So they leave that all out. I just don't understand why they leave out what really all goes on with diseases and cancer-

I'm glad you like the pics! :) You know, people always say Dumbledore looks like Gandalf when I draw him... but don't they Always look alike no matter what? They both wear robes, are tall old men with long billowy robes, and long white hair. I just like Wizard hats witha brim (though Dumbledore is described as wearing a hat a few times.) and ALbus has glasses. I don't know how to not make them look somewhat similar...
