I saw this over at hp100 and I liked it, but I think the subtle changes you've made to it here make it much more powerful and the sense of loss much deeper.

Thanks! I too like it better this way, so I'm glad to know it works. I wanted to write it H/D to begin with, but I couldn't make it fit until I posted this. I wanted to get across that Harry relates Hogwarts the most with Draco because that's where all of their interaction has happened so far. I'm glad there's that sense of loss, because that's what I was trying to portray. Thanks so much for the review!
