"Quiet, you're going to wake the whole damn house, you idiot!" Max Torque scolded the loudest of his group.

"Sorry, boss," Andrew replied in a sheepish whisper. He stepped aside so Meghan could break through the wards on the huge house belonging to the Malfoy family. She made quick work of them, considering the kind of Dark Magic woven into them. She'd done her homework, though. All three of them had done their homework. The group of vengeful wizards had planned to kidnap Narcissa Malfoy in revenge for what her husband had done to all of them.

Soon enough they were inside and making their way towards the wing Narcissa Malfoy slept in. With three of them and only one of her, she would be easy to kidnap. Plus, she would probably be sleeping. All they'd have to do was cast a heavier sleeping charm on her.

Andrew grunted when he picked her up. Meghan rolled her eyes at him and cast a lightening charm.

"What," asked Andrew," she's heavier than she looks!"

"Let's just get out of here without anyone finding out she's gone," Max said. The group made their way out past the gates. Meghan put the wards back in place in record time, and the group Disapparated.

After the war and after Hogwarts, most of it's students had gone on with their lives and done predictable things. Dean Thomas was working for an art gallery in London, Ginny Weasley was playing for the Chudley Cannons, Luna Lovegood moved to the United States to work as a fortune teller, and the Slytherins had all chosen careers with money. Harry Potter predictably became an Auror. He specialised in Dark Arts and missing persons. Draco Malfoy, on the other hand, followed in his father's footsteps and became a "politician." He sat around all day on his money and did nothing.

The war was kind to Draco, after he had humbly accepted protection (meaning begged and pleaded on behalf of his mother and himself) from the Order. Now he enjoyed flashy parties by the dozens with his mother. Not much had changed, except they now had a Muggle telephone with some magical installments.

---

"Mother! Mother, you've had enough of your damned beauty sleep! Your eggs are getting cold," Draco shouted as he entered his mother's chambers without asking. He sighed heavily when he saw that the hangings around her bed were still drawn shut. "Mother. Wake up."

He pulled back the hangings to allow the sunlight to shine in. Except Narcissa Malfoy wasn't in bed. She was already three thousand miles away, but Draco didn't know that yet. He looked around the room and saw that the door to her closet was open. Draco ventured over and called in, but there was no answer. He called her personal house-elf, Tinky.

"Tinky, do you know where my mother is?" he asked patiently.

"No, Young Master, Tinky is not knowing where she is," she replied and cowered away from any punishment she might receive. Draco rubbed at his temple.

"Just, go and find her, will you? And get some other elves to help you as well. You're dismissed." With a quiet pop, Tinky vanished. Draco sank down in his mother's armchair and rubbed at his temples again.

By nightfall the Manor had been searched high and low, and still Narcissa Malfoy was nowhere to be found. Draco made a call to the Auror department, but they informed him that he had to wait twenty-four hours before reporting a person missing.

---

The next morning, Draco found himself sitting in Harry Potter's office. The department had appointed Potter the head of his mother's case. Apparently he was an expert at this sort of thing. Expert my arse, Draco thought with a snort. Potter looked up from the paperwork he had been filling out for the case.

"Is something funny, Mr. Malfoy? Some hilarious joke you'd like to share with me about your mother being missing?" Potter pinned him to his seat with a deadpan stare.

"Nothing," Draco replied. He was annoyed that Potter kept calling him Mr. Malfoy, like they were complete strangers. Well, they might not know each other like best friends would, but just the same. They worked together during the war. And Potter had saved his arse a number of times. "There isn't anyone else that could be assigned to this case, is there?"

"Look, Mr. Malfoy, I assure you that I'm just doing my job here. I will bring your mother home safely to you, alright?" Draco nodded in reply, gritting his teeth at the "Mr. Malfoy". Potter asked him a few more questions before he was allowed to go back to worrying about his mother. Potter shook his hand on his way out the door and promised to keep him updated on the case.

A week went by before Draco had heard any word from Potter. He'd just gotten off the phone with him. Potter had gotten a lead on a little shack that had been used during the war as an underground safe house for the Muggle-born wizards.

---

"Malfoy, what the hell do you think you're doing here? Get out of here!" Potter shouted to him while deflecting a curse from a fiery little redhead that one of the taller men kept calling Meghan. She reminded Draco of a mix of Hermione Granger and Ginny Weasley. Draco ducked and sent a curse back at the girl.

"I'm helping you, you fool! Why did you come here alone? Behind you!" Draco aimed a curse over Potter's shoulder at the big oaf barreling towards Potter.

"Because I'm an Auror! Duck! This is my job, you idiot. You could get yourself killed! Left!" Potter was shouting orders all while scolding him the whole time. However, they made a good team still, after all these years. Their wand motions were as automatic as their conversation. Potter pushed Draco to the left, but Draco didn't duck fast enough, his arm was hit with a slashing curse. Potter cast a binding spell on the redhead and the oaf before going after the leader of the pack. The leader turned out to be somewhat wise and surrendered. "Malfoy, go unbind your mother, she's down the hall, third door on the left. Hurry up."

"Maxwell Torque, you are under arrest for the kidnaping of Narcissa Malfoy. You have the right to remain silent,” Potter said as he cast a binding charm on him. Draco came back into the room with his mother. She had a few cuts and bruises on her, signs of very minor torture. Potter nodded to himself and motioned for Draco to follow him.

The paperwork took a few days to fill out, but soon the whole mess was over. Draco’s mother was released to go home from the hospital in two days, but Draco had to stay a bit longer. His arm had been cursed with something yet unknown to the medical workers. His arm was covered in ink and it was tangled in a mess, looking like a tattoo gone wrong. They untangled it in a few hours, after they’d run test after test after test on him. They told him for the rest of his life his arm was going to tell the truth. Draco had laughed in their faces.

A short while later he was resting in bed when Potter knocked on his door. He came in without permission, but that was Potter. He sat down next to Draco’s bed and pulled out a file with Maxwell Torque’s name on the tab.

“I interviewed Torque myself this morning. He confessed that they were about to start torturing your mother for information on the where whereabouts of Lucius Malfoy, despite the fact that he died in Azkaban,” he said. Potter looked at Draco over the top of the file before continuing. “Apparently the Torque family was torn apart by your father during a raid in Devon.”

“My mother and I can’t be held responsible for his actions!” Draco said incredulously. Potter smiled and Draco’s stomach did a little flip. He’d never seen Potter smile at him before. It felt nice.

“That’s exactly what I said,” he replied with the same grin. Draco was hit with the sudden ridiculous notion to kiss him. He felt a tingling sensation in his arm, and glanced down to see what it was. The ink mess on his arm had formed a sentence. Draco Malfoy wants to kiss Harry Potter.

So he did. He reached forward and grabbed Potter by the wrist and pulled him towards him. Potter tripped on a cord and landed across Draco’s lap.

“You look good like that, Potter,” he murmured before leaning down and brushing his lips against Potter’s. But a loud ringing interrupted them, and they jumped apart. Potter straightened his shirt out before turning and rushing out of the room. Draco had gotten a quick glimpse of the blush he’d had. Draco felt a little stupid for acting so openly, even if it had felt nice, and shrugged it off.

---

Two days had gone by and Harry still couldn’t get that damned mockery of a kiss off his mind. It haunted him, day and night, everywhere he went. At work it was all he could focus on to save his life. When he slept it was in his dreams. Anytime he saw a blonde walk past he was hit with an urge to push him against the nearest wall and kiss him ‘til he couldn’t breathe properly.

After two weeks his life had almost returned to normal, except he was informed that Malfoy had been released from St. Mungo’s. Harry turned off the light in his office and left early for the day.

Before his hand even touched the knocker a house-elf appeared before him.

“Hello, Mister Harry Potter, sir, how would you be liking to be announced?” Harry smiled down at it, which confused the poor thing.

“I won’t be needing one, thank you.” Harry entered the Manor and looked around for a minute before walking down a hallway to the right that led to Draco Malfoy’s study. He didn’t even knock before he entered. Malfoy was sitting in his chair, still engrossed in whatever he was writing before he noticed Harry. He nearly jumped out of his skin.

“Who let you in?” he asked and looked around. Potter grinned and Draco felt his stomach flip again. And then Potter was walking towards him, around his desk. He leaned over Draco’s chair and kissed him for all he was worth. Draco made a small sound of protest in the back of his mouth before pulled Potter down to him. Draco opened his mouth and then Potter’s tongue was intent on sliding all the way down his throat. And then it was gone. Everything. Draco looked around; confused for a moment, before he spotted Potter’s back retreating out of his study. He saw red. No one walks in here unannounced and snogs the socks off of him and then walks away before he’s finished with them and gets away with it, he thought indignantly.

Draco jumped up and hurried to find Potter in the entrance hall. Potter was just about to reach the door.

“Potter, wait!” he shouted and grabbed his shoulder and spun him around. He caught the startled look on Potter’s face before he slammed him back against the wall and kissed him, teasing at his mouth until Potter’s mouth opened with a moan. Harry gripped at Malfoy’s sides and pulled him closer. It felt to good to be right. It felt like it should be wrong. So wrong, but then it felt so good and they both couldn’t stop. Their hands traveled all over each other and soon enough they were both panting.

“Where do we go from here?” Draco asked, his hands pawing at Potter’s belt.

“Well, from the look of things we have two options. One being your bed, which I’m assuming is all the way up the stairs and down some winding hallways. Option two would be that lovely little couch over there by the fireplace,” He replied smoothly and Draco was amazed at his composure.

“Couch it is then!” Draco said and practically dragged Potter over to it. Potter took over then and flipped them so that Draco’s bare back was pressed against the cool leather. In a flash Draco’s trousers and pants were gone. Potter was licking his inner thigh and it was driving him mad.

Harry inhaled Malfoy’s scent. It was different but he liked it. A lot. He’d never done this before, but that had never stopped him from doing anything before. He wrapped his lips around the head of Malfoy’s cock and sucked and teased, taking more into his mouth and slowly dragging his tongue up the length of it. Draco was going to go insane before the night was over. Potter must have done this before because he seemed to know what he was doing. It was quite possibly the best blow job he’d ever received. But he couldn’t think anymore because Potter was doing a twisting thing with his tongue that sent him over the edge.

Draco looked at his arm when he felt the tingling sensation again. The ink curled into itself and rearranged to read, "Draco Malfoy wants Harry Potter to fuck him." He blinked and read the same thing again. He tried to pull his arm away quickly when Potter crawled up and curled his fingers around Draco's wrist.

"What's this?" Harry asked. He turned Malfoy's arm over and read the ink three times before what it read sunk in. His eyes flicked up at Malfoy, and they stared at each other for all of thirty seconds before Harry dragged Malfoy upstairs.

Hours later they were sprawled across the couch in similar fashion with drying white stains all over each other.

“I supposed I should get cleaned up and go,” Harry said, more to himself than anything. He looked around for his wand and cast some cleaning charms. Draco was still sprawled on the floor. He watched him quietly until Harry seemed just about ready to go.

“You missed a spot,” he said before pulling Harry down by his wrist and licked at the corner of his mouth. Harry kissed him for a while before he pulled away. “Come back again tomorrow night for the final full inspection of the house. To ensure my mother’s safety, of course.”

Harry laughed at that, and Draco found that he rather enjoyed the sound.

Over the next three months they met almost every night and Harry would spend Friday nights at the Manor. They spent as much time in bed as they did out of it. Harry couldn't help but think Draco was the one thing that had been missing in this life. Draco had even helped Harry pick out his new furniture for his apartment.

One night when they were having dinner that Harry had cooked at his apartment, Harry informed Draco that he had to go away on assignment for work.

"Harry, honestly, you work hard enough as it is. Isn't there anyone else they can send?" Draco whined. He hated it when Harry had to go away.

"I'm the best they have," Harry protested. For as much as he liked Draco, he refused to give up his beloved job.

"But Harry, I had plans for us," Draco said.

“Draco I can’t help when I have to go on assignment, I promise I’ll be back soon though,” Harry said and kissed Draco to shut him up.

“You’d better be.” Draco wrapped his arms around Harry's neck and they headed for their bedroom.

---

When Harry entered the Manor it was dark, but he could hear sounds coming from Draco’s study. He headed that way and opened the door, casting the charm to turn on the light automatically. What he saw, though, left him seeing red.

“Mmm, oh, Kiren, right there - yes!” Draco cried out before he spotted Harry. “Harry!”

Harry turned around and slammed the door behind him. He heard Draco’s muffled curse and made his way out of the Malfoy Manor. Hopefully for the last time, he thought.

“Well, shit,” Draco said running a hand through his hair. Kiren came in behind him and wrapped his arms around Draco’s waist. Draco scoffed and pushed the young boy away. “Kiren, go home.”

---

For weeks Harry brooded around his office. People kept out of his way and left him alone, except for his boss to give him assignments and Lawrence. The resident flamboyant, openly gay Auror. Harry wasn’t going to mouth off at his boss, so all of his frustrations about everything were let out on Lawrence. He brushed off Lawrence and his come-ons and tried to ignore the Auror while at work. Mostly he was just frustrated at himself for thinking Draco could commit to anything other than himself. Draco Malfoy is a self-absorbed prig, he told himself.

Four months had gone by and Harry was walking past the shops along the Thames. He looked into a coffee shop window that emanated delicious smells. He didn’t expect to see Draco sitting there in the window. His curiosity got the better of him and he walked in and sat across from his old flame. Draco looked surprised to see him, too. He didn’t say anything for a number of minutes.

“Harry, hi. I, um. Can I buy you a drink?” Draco mentally kicked himself. He sounded like a fool, stuttering like that. But he saw a flicker of a smile, the smile he missed so much, so he must have done something right.

“No thanks, Malfoy. But I would like an explanation,” Harry said, pinning him with his stare. Draco averted his eyes.

“I see we’re back to surnames,” Draco said dejectedly. He shouldn’t feel like the kicked puppy. He didn’t have the right to. “All right, all right. We were madly in love and decided to run off and elope together,” he deadpanned. Harry wasn’t amused. “I was drunk, that night, okay? Very, very drunk. And Kiren, well, he looked a right bit like you and I was far enough gone that I couldn’t tell the difference-”

“You knew the difference enough to call him ‘Kiren’ and not ‘Harry’,” Harry interrupted.

“Yes, yes, after a while I regained a bit of awareness. Do you want this explanation or not? Well I offered him a warm bed for the night after he sucked me off in the men’s toilets. Honestly, right after you found us and stormed out I sent him home. You’re something of a sobering charm when your lips aren’t marking up my neck,” Draco ended in a sultry tone and dipped his head coyly, peering up at Harry through his eyelashes.

“Nice try, Malfoy,” Harry said. Draco sighed and returned to sipping his latte.

“It’s not like we were married, or anything,” Draco muttered. Harry was out of his chair and out of the door so fast, Draco was almost sure it hadn’t happened. He threw some notes on the table before jumping up and dashing out onto the sidewalk to chase after Harry. “Harry wait! I’m sorry!”

Draco gripped Harry’s arm and tugged him back and kissed him. Harry pushed him away with a glare.

“That’s not good enough,” Harry said.

---

It was Christmas Eve and Harry was alone. Nearly a year ago he’d saved Narcissa Malfoy from certain death and in return he’d gotten Draco Malfoy for a quasi-boyfriend who helped him pick out the couch he was sulking on. He was watching Christmas re-runs on the television while his hot cocoa boiled on the stove. He got up to pour himself a glass, adding some rum to it.

A loud noise that sounded like a dying cat startled him and he almost spilled his cocoa. He opened his front door to find Draco singing Christmas carols off key, and loudly. Harry hid a grin and pulled him inside before his neighbors started to make a fuss. It was late, after all.

“What are you doing here?” Harry asked, scratching the back of his head.

“Why, do you want me to leave?” Draco looked worried for a second, like that was exactly what Harry was going to say. Harry shook his head no, though.

“D’you want some cocoa?” Draco nodded and followed Harry into his kitchen. Nothing had changed since he’d last been there and it was a little bit comforting. Draco drank his cocoa slowly and they shared stilted, awkward conversation. Finally, Draco sighed and stood up.

“I can’t take this anymore. Here, you stupid prat, take this. Happy Christmas,” Draco said quickly. He’d presented Harry with a brightly wrapped present. Harry eyed it dubiously.

“What is it?” He asked.

“Open it!” Draco said impatiently. Harry delicately unwrapped the gift to reveal a black, velvety jewelry case. He glanced up at Draco once before he opened the lit to reveal a beautiful silver chain necklace with a lion pendant on it. Upon closer inspection he saw that there was a snake draped around the lion. On the back, Harry found their initials elegantly engraved. A smile lit up his face and he looked up at Draco again.

“Thank you,” he said. “This looks like a pretty expensive apology, though. And I don’t have anything for you in return.”

“Oh, I think I can think of a few worth while things you could give me,” Draco said with a grin. Harry pulled him into his lap and kissed him like there was no tomorrow. Draco pulled back and grinned down at Harry impishly.

“Where do we go from here?”

“Well, we have two options. One is the bedroom, which is all the way down the hallway,” Harry said.

“What’s option two?”

“Option two is the couch, which is much closer. And Italian leather, if I remember correctly.”

“The couch it is then.” Draco said and leaned back down for another kiss.
