as the christmas-season is upon us, and we all are making gifts, stories, and trying to meet the challenges, i am happy to announce this year's seasonal comment-a-thon- which i asked the amazing capitu if she is ok with me doing it this year hear on the hd_writers page- and she said yes, because of being busy- and for the first time a seasonal write-a-thon!!!

grab the from of the house you want to sign up to, fill it out and post it as a comment.

for the comment-a-thon a similar sign-up post will happen on October 1st

I am dense sometimes, so here goes: If I participate in the write-a-thon, that basically means that anything I write, fandom-wise, from 9-5 through 12-31 is eligible towards the word-count for my House?

I've not done this before, and just wanted to make sure.

Oh, and the challenges are optional? I ask, because goodness knows I'll have enough on my plate during December.

yes, for the write-a-thom all words no matter the fandom or if it is original fiction (as long as it is not written to earn money) counts; so any words you put to fanfiction will give you and your house points, and inthinknit‘s not you but me not being able to word it better that is the problem here

also yes, challenges are purly optimal and will be easy and take up about 15-20min max; they are desinged to either make you write or think about what you write and can be used to further your stories or lighten your mood, but you absolutely DO NOT HAVE TO do them!

i shall try to alsways include a link to all the previous challenges- and you have until december 31st to complete all challenges;
i am not sure if lj has set up a way to follow things if you don not subscribe to the com... sorry

So does this include the monthly drabble challenge on the Drarry discord? Also, does it include LJ challenges like 25 Days of Harry and Draco? Sorry for the questions, I'm new to HP.

it includes all the words, so yes those two challenges are included as well;
main goal of the write-a-thon is to animate us all and stay focused to make words!
