Hello old friend

A couple days ago I received an email from, of all things, LiveJournal, congratulating me on my 20th anniversary of being on this platform. Apparently I had signed up 20 years ago, and my last post was in June 2010.

It says I have 10 listed friends. I do not expect any of them to still be using this platform. I will write as if no one is.

Hello old friend indeed! I've been wanting to start journaling again and what a coincidence, Livejournal also just sent me a friendly reminder that I've been on the platform for 19 years. I'm planning to write more personally to get some thoughts out so will likely be private but we'll see where this takes me!

Heyo. Amanda got an email too, and another friend on Facebook just posted about getting such an email.

It's so funny. Back in the days of LiveJournal, I don't remember people getting mad at platforms, just communities.

And now these days, people just hate all these social media platforms.

So then LiveJournal waltzes back into our lives, and it's like, hey there's a website I never felt any ill will toward! Welcome back, old buddy!

Anyway, I am slowly reading every single one of my old posts in reverse order. I'm up to 2009 now. I'll try to check in on your page to see if you've updated anything.
