So, I kinda think, great, another superhero MMO game.   Except that it comes from Jack Emmert.   You know, City of Heroes has improved by streets since he took a back step away from bein the lead developer, and the environment in the game has been massively improved already by the NC soft buyout.

It would be nice to see another suepr hero mmo, but to be honest I am expecting it to just be clone of coh.
But then it is in its early stages .

I stopped renewing my city of heroes sub back in January, It wasnt that I was no longer finding it engaging but the support for the game and the huge differences between what EU players and US players get just annoyed me.

As an example, in the US they will restore a character that you have deleted, in some cases the character could of been deleted up to two years ago :O.

They also restore lost enhancements,inspirations,salvage,influence..
In the EU the offer no such support.

I am lurking in EvE online at the moment, its not bad and it pays for itself, so no monthly fees if your character can make the ISKs to buy game time...which is easy at my chars level.

You see, games that play themselves don't really float my boat, but different strokes and all that.

I don't think I've ever had the problems that you've had with City, or if I have lost stuff, I've never noticed after all apart from characters, that kinda stuff is pretty indistictive.
