Ok, so I'm going to try to kick start my blog a bit again. Hopefully I'll manage to write something interesting. But start off with just sharing some of my thoughts about various things without getting too deep. I figured Dollhouse would be a good place to start.

I gather the first few episodes were contractual, and Whedon bascially phoned them in so as to concentrate on the later ones.

I do worry about the attention spans of Genre Fans sometimes. It seems that there is an established idea that if a show isn't jaw droppingly amazing right off the bat, then it is irredeemable. I mean, people who are so quick to condem a show after the first few episodes should remember how long it took for Next Gen to find it's feet.
It would be interesting to hear some well thought out reasons as to why people think those first few episodes are not up to much though.

I thought the first episode was a pretty standard pilot - showing the concept, nothing especially interesting happens. The second episode was pretty good. 3 and 4, not so much.
