Full Metal Alchemist is awesome. Have you seen the film?

They are actually rebooting the anime so that it runs in line with the original Manga, as the two series diverged as they were jointly being developed.

I'd recommend Cowboy Beebop if you haven't seen it already, definite direct parallels with Firefly/Serenity and a great series which neatly swaps from serious drama to light comedy at the drop of a hat.

Death Note might be a quite interesting one to pick up. We've seen both the original live action films and the plot is great. A great antagonist and a great protagonist. Worth checking out...

I'm in the middle of ...aquireing the FMA film now. I don't know how I feel about the new anime, I think I'd rather try the manga at some point. Death Note I am half way through on DvD, but coyboy Bebop is a good suggestion... Piggymoo here I come...

I'd recommend:

Excel Saga (wackiness)
Read Or Die, and the follow-up tv series (steampunk/spy/supers)
Serial Experiments Lain (head-fuckery)

RoD is the most similar in type of enjoyment to FMA, except even better, I'd say.

Oh, and Bleach. The first series of that was quite fun with an interesting set of characters...unfortunately we haven't had a chance to catch up with any of the series after that yet...

Torchwood S3 was fantastic.

Ow My fandom!!
Have you seen the hate-storm it kicked up? Plenty of people sent genuinely abusive and/or threatening messages to the writers. Kinda scary. http://jamesmoran.blogspot.com/2009/07/stepping-back.html

I posted a link on the games forum (I'll Be in My Bunk thread) to the BBC comment form. In a pique of patriotism I sent them a note that thought TW was so good it made me proud of BBC Wales for having made it.

Nah, I only go to websites populated by sane people.

The vast majority recognise what the were trying to do (even if they don't like it, which is fair enough) it's only the lunatic fringe that getting their knickers in a twist, and should be dutifully ignored.
