If you're a parent with a child between the age of 6 and 15. The child will love it (they haven't reached the age of snarky geek cynicism), and the parent will have been in high school or college when the Joshua Tree came out. Frankly, it seems like a no-brainer--the demographics have more potential than Lion King or even Wicked. Both the delays and the accidents have been over-blown--the development process has actually been faster than many shows currently on Broadway, and many musicals, including Wicked have had worse accidents in the preview and rehearsal period. Spider-Man has simply been under more scrutiny, and that's because there's so much interest in it, which, frankly, only bodes well for its chances of succeeding. Has anyone seen the script? Heard more than one of the 17 songs? No. Given Taymor's track record, and the investors' confidence, I'm wagering that it's going to be a hit.
