Personality
What are your strengths? I have a sharp mind, funny, I can do almost any job put in front of me, and I complete everything I do, I tend to be a leader, but if someone can inspire me to follow them, I’m very dedicated and dutiful. I’m very driven and ambitious when it comes to new things, I’m very curious, always looking for the next curio. I’m good with words, and clear about what I mean, and I can explain things in ways they make sense to other people.
What are your weaknesses? I tend to be dismissive of people’s emotions, and can be a little cruel with my jokes without realizing it. I’ve been told I’m very cold on first meeting and it takes a long time for me to warm up to someone. I prefer to be alone and can be prone to a fatalistic attitude.
Describe yourself in five words. Searching. Ambitious. Observant. Brash. Intelligent.
How do you think others see you? What I hear a lot is despite my size (I’m actually very tiny) is that that people forget I’m a small. Nothing about my attitude or personality is small, or passive and I tend to go for the throat when taking challenges. My friends know that despite my usual attitude, I can be very caring, and loyal and that I will gladly give them whatever they need of me.
Are you a leader or a follower? Leader, but I have no problem following someone.
Are you more outgoing or shy? I can be guarded when someone first meets me, but when I get to know you- I’m very outgoing and funny.
What causes you stress? How do you relax? I hate not knowing the full-story, or being unprepared for a project or not understanding something. I relax by reading or scribbling down stories.
How do you deal with conflict? I tend to be very aggressive, but whenever I encounter a problem my first reaction is to make sure I’m not in the wrong.
When do you feel most comfortable? In a small group of friends, probably eating something.
Who or what is most important to you? For me personally, knowledge. After that, my friends. I keep a very close circle, and am fiercely protective of them.
What are you good at? Learning and teaching it back, conversation, heh, spending money.
What do you wish you were better at? I tend not to realize that I’ve hurt people until much later, so I guess I wish I was more empathetic.
What do you hope to achieve in your life? Quite simply, I want to be remembered.
The Books
When did you first read His Dark Materials? This summer actually, I’d been putting it off until a friend quite literally bought them for me.
What do you like about the books? The style in which they’re written, they don’t go over the top with the fantasy like some books in the genre can go, and the characters are very human and do things for very human reasons, in very human ways…
Who if your favourite character? Why?At the moment? John Faa, he is very reserved in his actions- making sure he knows everything before he acts. Asriel is a man who knows what he wants and goes after it- if not in the best of ways.
Who is your least favourite character? Why? Lyra, there’s just something very flighty about her that I don’t like. She’s too…impulsive.
Of all the worlds mentioned in the books, which would you most like to visit?Lyra’s probably.
