I liked the Pirates ending. I thought the stuff with Jack was perfect, and the Will/Liz stuff was cute. I've heard since that the post-credits coda is actually supposed to be a happy ending... if so, they really dropped the clarity-in-storytelling ball there. See Knocked Up, I think you'll like it.

Do you play poker? If so, I should start inviting you to poker night when we start up again...

Zombie irony: it's like ten thousand kidneys when all you need is a brain.

I hear they're planning a sequel, and the coda is really to eliminate Will / Liz from the next movie (by giving them a happy ending). I guess what bugged me about it was that generally in Pirates with those types of curses (the gold in 1, the service on the ship in 2, the locker in 3) Jack figures out a way to both save himself and his friends immediately and then dodge the backlash. I was waiting for the twist, basically to find out why Jack did what he did and why it was smarter than it appeared to be, and it never came. I do hear that there's a deleted scene that explains that if Calypso had been there waiting for Davy Jones 10 years later, when he had his day ashore, he would've been free from his curse. That makes the ending way more conclusive.

Knocked Up is on my todo list. I thought it looked stupid, but I LOVED 40-year Old Virgin, and I thought that looked stupid in trailers too.

I'm alright at poker, but I'd love the chance to get better. Unless you guys are all ridiculously good that is.
