Just to preface this post: I wrote this during the summer. I was originally going to post it on my LJ then, but I refrained because of the rather incendiary nature of the post. The difference is pretty shocking between cultures, but how can we fault them?
The only way to truly understand the seriousness of other countries' situations is to experience them first hand. But then what sane person would give up the opulence of the united states to go live amongst such devastation? ( Besides our parents, anyway. ;) )
No, I don't think that words or images can truly instill in the reader the feelings one experiences when witnessing such desolation.
That being said, I am pretty sure ignorance and insensitivity are unavoidable facts of the situation, and we can't really blame the US for acting that way.

In other news, I am not wearing any pants. More on that after the commercial break.
