today in psychology Mr. Hallett was talking about how when babies are born..they live on a 25 hour day instead of a 24 hour day...so thats why they always wake up in the middle of the night..they have to adapt to 24 hours...and he was saying how alot of ppl wanted to know if other genes get passed down from generation to generation then how come ( Read more... )

what you say is true, but what mr. hallett said isn't total BS either.
you have to open up your mind to different perspectives even if it's not what you believe. sure, men are aggressive because they want sex, but a factor in their aggressiveness may be their genes.
like gays -- is it how their brought up or their genes? huge debate, but a good argument to explore.

being gay isnt a gene...and its not some disorder or such..its sin..ppl who say they're gay are merely saying they're sinners...

its been scientifically proven that being gay is a gene defect. Now why sexual acts would be a sin on a gays part, actually BEING gay is out of there contol...and it has been proven. Someone in my family is gay, and he was gay before he was old enough to talk, hes now a full grown adult, and is not a sinner. Now should he decide to persue homosexual relationships....that would be a sin, however simply being gay is not. Thats like saying being black is a sin because well your white, so black to you just 'isnt normal'...its something out of your control...yet i could see where the confusion would come, many have a hard time beliving it is not a choice when they haven't had first hand experience ( ... )

katie psychology is looking at it from a nonreligious point of view because if they were to start talking about sin you know that all anyone would do is start bitching about how its bringing religion into study. im not trying to be mean but just because you think that being gay is a sin doesnt mean that everyone has to think the same way, and i know you're not trying to make everyone think that, but bringing religion into this is totally innappropriate.
but thats just my opinion

i agree.
psych has nothing to do with religion. its a class on a scientific study, not a theology class.

Why is it that it's ok for you to be offended by Katie's religion, but it's not ok for her to be offended by evolution?

im not offended by katies religion first of all, seeing as i went to women of faith with her..i would not have gone had her religion been something i was offended by. But had you been in the car with us that weekend on our ride up there, my religion was questioned very much...not in an attacking way, just in a way to learn. and that was simply all i was doing...actually answering questions that to be honest with you, back then i did not have the understanding that i do now to give complete answers.
I as well hate evolution, but its part of psycology...i did not say she cannot be offended by it, i am...i was simply saying there not saying it in a way to offend you in class...its in a way to show different beliefs and way the human brain is working.

I'd like to see your 'scientific proof'... nikk_it August 21 2005, 13:18:42 UTC
What scientific gene is FORCING these people to be homo-sexual? Where is this "proof", what proof? Who did these tests? What WAS the test? Foolishness.

My mind is not unopen because I actually believe and stand for something. Christian science makes way more sense then secular science, starting with the fact that proper Christian science doesn't contradict it self...unlike the opposing.
