I don't want to keep a dumb diary. That stuff's for girls. But they sent me this from witch school, so I guess I hafta write in it.

I didn't know witches had to go to school. I thought they'd all be too busy blighting crops and flyin' around to do such boring stuff. What's the point of bein' a witch if you still hafta go to stupid school

Ya don't have ta learn maths, but there's Arithmancy, which has a lot of numbers.

There's ways to make it private, but they're mostly used for talking to people anyway. Dunno why you'd want to.

When you get to Hogwarts, they'll sort you into one of the four houses. And Gryffindor's the best one!

We do have Arithmancy at the school which involves numbers, but not actual math.

You learn many different things here, like how to fly on a broom, perform transfigurations, defend yourself against dark wizards, and other things.
