So this has been an eventful week. One couple we know decided to elope to Vegas, after telling everyone they were going to colonial Williamsburg (a brilliant smokescreen!), and another couple we know got knocked up. With Child, that is, accidentally. But they seem pretty happy about it in their own sarcastic, cynical way

wow, I never thought about having a kid as being playing out my part in context of the larger life trend that happens to lots of people.

Getting married seemed like catching the chickenpox. Having a baby seems like writing a novel or sculpting a masterpiece.

But I guess lots of people paint their first Mona Lisa around age 28....

I haven't heard of a person not being made by being born, so it's happened at least 6.5 billion times recently.

It can awesome, special, require lots of insight and talent to do it well, and be common at the same time, right?
