Term started fifeen days ago.

No injuries so far.

I have caught up on all my medical journals, managed to parse through some Muggle ones I signed up for by mistake, and have completely reorganized the Hospital Wing.

Twice.

I don't think I've been so bored since...

I don't think I've ever been so bored.

It's very unlike a healer to ask people to get ( Read more... )

all caught up and nowhere to go, boredboredboredbored, empty hospital wing

I thought you'd get even more patients this year. The number of injuries seems to increase every year.

HEY. HEY. That goes both ways, you know, West. Your legs work just fine, you can come visit me, too.

YOU COULD INVITE ME IN SOMETIME.

You're my brother but I haven't actually known you or seen you so it's not like I'm going to take liberties and assume I'm welcome, idiot. Besides, I don't know where your office is, much less your rooms, I haven't really explored the castle at all.

I THOUGHT IT WENT WITHOUT SAYING

I mean, seriously West. It's your own fault for not going exploring I love you and all that, but...there's a reason you're just the cute one. You could've just asked.

If you really want a tour of your awesome brother's awesome quarters, I can show you them.

*lots of angry-looking scribbles, jerky handwriting below suggests barely contained irritation*

You had no interest in having me in your rooms when I was a child. Regardless, I would appreciate to be shown more of the castle, yes.

[Typical half-cursive half-cyrillic scratches seem to have been written quickly - though whether or not it is from needed haste or excitement at having him seemingly volunteer for something that was going to be asked soon enough is not immediately apparent in the text. Perhaps it is both, perhaps not.]

You are correct that we do begin practice soon, yes...

I fear I've put it off long enough with theory and lecturing about being safe... But I suppose there are some things that can only be learnt by being flung across a room or worse, when it comes to these things.

I am pleased to see that you seem more than willing to attend, given the liklihood of injury... Class won't have to be interrupted to drag unfortunate students to you!

...I will warn you that some are... quite unruly, though you are used to your brother, so it should not be a problem?

[fortunately he can read cyrillic? yaaay?]

Just let me know when you'll need me. I certainly wouldn't want anyone to have any permanent injuries, or be distracted too long from learning such a valuable skill.

...I am not actually very used to my brother - we were, separated, by our parents for most of our lives. This summer is the first time I've really seen him in about a decade. On the other hand, I've already dealt with a surprising amount of his antics.

[Which makes it all the easier, yes - he really tries to make it legible, really!]

I will do so, of course. Permanent injuries would be... inconvenient.

Ah-- I am sorry, I should... stop assuming things. Though his antics are... unique. Good practice for students, I would think.

[*pinches iconcheeks omg so cute <3333*]

Yes, inconvenient is one word for it.

No, do not worry, it is a perfectly reasonable assumption. I wish he would set a better example for the students, but that is neither here nor there.

[he is made of cute and squish and snow, yes~]

[Small inkblots and idle skritching on the page as his memory is wracked for a German smaller than he back in school - and a larger inkblot as the realisation hits that these brothers are THOSE Germans - the introverted one who became obnoxious, and the little studious one.]

I wouldn't mind, should you want to practice your Russian. It would be nice to speak it again~

...I was a seventh year when you arrived, wasn't I? Forgive me if I am incorrect, I, too, was far more interested in books than my fellow students...

Ah, I apologize in advance for my pronunciation. I am a bit better at Russian than French, as far as pronunciation is concerned, but there are some sounds I just can't make.

And, yes, I think that is true. The first year I was in Durmstrang I admit I said as little as possible because I was so ashamed of my accent. I had only just started learning Russian at that point and I was not very good at it yet...

But pronunciation is why we practice! You will get it soon enough.

[Really. It won't be a problem. He'll be happy to speak Russian again.]

...Ah, and children are cruel things more often than not. Durmstrang had quite the collection of nationalities, but most did grow up speaking Russian... or something closer to Russian than German, at least.

Your grammar was better than the Bulgarians' though, I am sure!

[Bulgarian is like... Russian without aaaany grammar. So it sounds like caveman-speak to a Russian person. XD]

Hah. Four years in Durmstrang did nothing to rid me of some of my more German (or more French) verbal failures. I am not sure any amount of conversing will do it now. But I would still like to keep in practice.

Bulgarians? Grammar? Here I thought they just said words in whatever order they thought them, and sometimes in reverse order just to be onerous.

[Ludwig learned Russian largely by reading hilarious amounts of Russian literature, and his textbooks. So his speech/grammar is pretty academic, except he knows a lot of swear words also. Go figure, he was in a private school. Also: congratulations, you have earned a laughing Ludwig! He is rare. You should treasure him.]
