In lieu of the regularly scheduled lecture on the syllabus, NEWT Healing students will be spending the class period studying equipment storage and organisational techniques common to medical institutions. You won't need your regular texts this afternoon, and the reading for that particular lecture (which was scheduled sometime in November, I ( Read more... )

They've not gotten to me yet. I think they're planning on tackling my work rooms and the Green Houses today. It's thankfully given me enough breathing time to clean some things in Green House #5. Thank you for the warning though. I'd rather they not attempt to confiscate my daughter's letters.

This is quiet absurd, isn't it? What are they expecting to find?

Your daughter's letters...good God. I hadn't thought -- honestly, you'd think Ulbricht and Honecker were still alive not to mention the Dark. Department of Magical Law Enforcement, indeed. I don't know what they're looking for, truly, but the way things are going we might as well start referring to the DMLE as the Ministerium für Staatssicherheit.

Luckily your note about the papers gave me enough time to cast translation charms over all my letters. As it is they were very curious to know why I was recieving letters from Germany. Idiots.

Well, I certainly trust this collection about as much as we ever trusted the Ministerium. They're about as personable too.

We can forgo the chess, if you'd like. Putting the infirmary back together is certainly more important, and there's no reason we can't talk and work at the same time.

Barbara Pennyfarther. I still don't know how she managed to scrape an E in her Transfiguration N.E.W.T.

By the end of the day, I might very well need the distraction. Though if I come in covered with tufts of feathers and cotton wool, you'll know why.

I think Miss Pennyfarther's failing marks in Herbology would explain the mishap today. But honestly, what sort of idiot person picks up a jar clearly labelled 'Contents Corrosive Take Care When Handling' and proceeds to prise open the lid with a PEN-KNIFE? If the staff at St Mungo's can give her full use of her fingers again, she should consider herself truly fortunate.

Who taught her Potions? It wasn't Severus, was it?

It's fun rather amusing to imagine them in the same classroom if she can't follow simple instructions.

Severus was after her time, I think. She must've finished about three or four years before he started teaching...so Potions would have been taught by Barnstaple then. And he always was soft on the girls who could act helpless.

I wonder what Severus would have made of her. Something flambéed, no doubt.
