Our Professor of Astronomy, Aracelis Sinistra, has been absent from our school for nearly a fortnight after requesting three days' leave to undertake research on the Continent. Our messages to her have not received replies, and we are concerned that something may have happened to her during her travels. Headmistress Minerva McGonagall has asked me to file an official request with you to inform the school if Professor Sinistra should be admitted to any of your wards at any point in the future. This has gone far enough. I have to speak to Kingsley before he goes and does something foolish -- I can only hope he'll listen to me. The last thing we need now is for the bickering to turn into something worse.
Tonight's the Hallowe'en Ball. I suppose I'll have punch-bowl duty...if anyone decides that their idea of a lark is to try something funny with a bottle of firewhiskey, they'll find themselves out on their ear and fifty House points docked for good measure.
What a fiasco. Perhaps getting away from this place for a day won't be so terrible after all.
