Character Name: Ryuuzaki Sakuno
Age: 20
Race: White Mage
Kingdom: Risath
Appearance: Since a young age Sakuno has always worn her hair up in two braided pigtails. On the rare occasion she'll keep her hair down; normally for special occasions or quite simply if she doesn't have enough time to. She likes to wear hair accessories like flowers or small hairpins as well. Her hair is a fine mahogany color that extends a little past her shoulder blades when left down. Her eyes are a dark crimson that normally look brown, matching her hair color, in natural lighting but whenever she casts magic they seem to illuminate into their natural shade.
Personality: Sakuno is a young and inexperienced white mage but what she lacks in ability she makes up for in ambition. Though in the past it backfired on her often, little by little she's learned to control her misfires. She wants to be the best healer she can be and sometimes works tirelessly for it. While she is no prodigy her hard work and effort normally pay off. Magic aside, she is a very kind and caring young girl. She may not be the most social mage around but she's always willing to meet new people, though she is a bit on the shy side in the beginning. Perhaps it's due to her rather sheltered life growing up but she is also a bit naive and easily confused or embarrassed by concepts that are foreign or strange to her. Despite that she isn't easily taken by surprised but it's not hard to startle her all the same. It's near impossible to make her mad; there's probably not an angry bone in her body.
History: She hails from the small village of Tialdyn where she quietly practiced magic in peace. Her father is a black mage and her mother is a white mage so growing up she got to see both paths of magic that laid before her when she was old enough to choose. She would often mimic them both to try and decide when she was younger but it often led to not so good outcomes.
Sakuno had a bad habit of letting spells blow up in her face; quite literally speaking. Perhaps it was the lack of control over her powers or inexperience to focus but without fail the most basic of spells seemed to backfire on her. As she got older the accidents came less frequently, or so she thought until she decided to concentrate on offensive spells while practicing with her father. It was probably one of the biggest explosions the man had ever seen; and it wasn't even a black magic. Her mother came to their aid and thankfully Sakuno only had a few scratches and bruises from the blunder. It was probably from that day onward she made up her mind about which magical path to follow. Though she idolized her father at the end of the day her mother was always the one helping people a little at a time. And she knew she could never use magic to hurt others; after all she knew fully well how much it hurt when a spell hit you head on.
So when the time came for her twentieth birthday Sakuno took up the path of the white mage. Her mother assisted her little by little with the white magic and her father tried to help her hone her basics. The older she got the worse things seemed to backfire when it came to magics like Ignis; but surprisingly Sakuno's white magic never once failed her. Sure the effects could be weaker than before when she couldn't concentrate but there were never any explosions involved. Finally there was a magic she was adept to; and by that simply meaning it didn't blow up in her face.
Recently she was called to the castle with the starting of the war. She had never really ventured to the mainland of Risath, let alone its capital so she was quite nervous and at the same time excited for what laid before her. Upon entering the castle she was assigned a teacher to help hone her basic magic abilities. Little did the girl know that teacher would be none other than Oshitari Yuushi.
