I'm playing Yellow from a month or so after the events of Emerald Arc (she'll be updated with HGSS if she plays a part). I've been playing her for what feels like a very long time now, but I'd still love to hear any suggestions one might have to improve her. so if you have suggestions for how she sounds and acts, please tell me here!

I've been twiddling my thumbs about this for a good while, but I figured it'd be best to finally say it, and well, what better place to say it here than instead of the anon meme.

I don't find much wrong with your Yellow at all really, so good on you there. My problem lies with Gold and her's relationship. I'm not coming out to say it sucks because I don't ship it, it's more I find a problem with Yellow being in character because of it.

From what I understand she was in a relationship with another PokeSpe Red in the DR, until the mun idled out or wasn't posting or something, like I said I'm not sure. But due to how long Yellow nursed her little crush/later to be affection on Red in the manga and how abruptly she seemed to forget about him and start liking Gold in the DR, just seems really OOC to me.

They've been through a hell of a lot together, and she never really seemed to forget about him at all when they weren't together in the manga, so I just find it hard to believe they'd drift so far so quickly and she'd fall in love with

Let me preface this by saying I think your Yellow is pretty awesome! I personally feel like Yellow/Gold was handled pretty well and it's pretty much tooth-rottingly cute, and well yes. She's the most adorable love freak, man.

However, in the recent Yellow+Gold+Silver thread... it seems like you've kind of sacrificed some of Yellow's characterization in order to add drama to the relationship. I felt like her reactions were perfectly IC until the second comment here (http://community.livejournal.com/pokedressing/738263.html?thread=71314391#t71314391), where it... sort of went off track in a big way.

I think the biggest issue here is that Yellow doesn't seem to be taking the fact that Paul tried to kill Silver and wants to ruin every Gold he meets too seriously. She yells her boyfriend about how it's wrong to punch Paul once and tell him to try and take the various Silvers' feelings into consideration and basically tells him he's a monster for it (and doesn't even target

Now, I know we don't see any huge altercation between people Yellow considers to be her friends in canon so you don't really have precedence for this, but Yellow hates conflict and prefers it when people live in harmony with each other. To me, it would've made a lot more sense for her to offer to mediate between Silver+Gold and Paul, because I think she'd see it as less hurt feelings all around and an opportunity to get both sides to understand each other. It’s pretty obvious that Gold just doesn’t understand Paul’s intentions, and he kind of… thinks with his fists in the first place. He’s an idiot shounen hero, after all. If she'd done that and Gold still refused to come to an understanding with Paul (or even just refused to make the effort to talk to him to try and resolve things), the reaction she had would have been a lot more plausible… except for the part where all her rage is directed at Gold when Silver made a conscious choice to beat the shit out of Paul as well. I agree, anon. This was probably one of my worst threads ever, and not something I would have passed in a legit RP. What I really should have done was tell Kyo not to threadjack and to just keep Yellow in the dark, so that I could keep out of the Paul-related drama altogether, since I've already been in a down mood for a few weeks and just didn't want to deal with it.

I realized what I should have done only when the thread was partway through. Once that realization hit, I was frustrated and ended the thread as soon as I could to get back out of it.

It was a bad play on my part. But next time I start getting roped into drama when I don't want it, I'll say no, so that I don't have to force myself to play along when I'm not feeling well enough to handle it appropriately and ICly.

Thanks for realizing how crappy I did that. I really shouldn't have, and just asked Kyo to do it elsewhere. That was my poor judgment.

Oh hey the HMD reminded me to check this and tell you that I feel you did a pretty good job of damage control on that! I sort of liked the implication that Gold's kind of rubbing off on Yellow and encouraging her to be a little more impulsive for... good or ill. I know it's a little late but I think it'd be kind of interesting to follow up on that a bit-it could be a fun character development thing.

Anyway, don't have anything else to say! Aside from that little blip (which you did a pretty darn good job of recovering from), you've been doing a great job with her. I will continue stalking her eternally : )

I am so glad to hear back from you, and I'm glad to hear that you're happy with where she's gone from there! Your crit really was what made me stop being too frustrated to deal with drama and handle the situation the way she would have naturally, so I'm glad you saw that through.

Actually, that's a clever idea! Maybe her next post can illustrate that. ;)
