http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Monberaux Not much is really known about Monberaux's past but what is known and revealed is that he grew up in Jeuno alongside Wolfgang, his best friend. The two boys became as close as brothers, doing everything together. While he took the path of healing, Wolfgang took the path of fighting. Through hard work and finding others that share his view, Monberaux became the only doctor in Jeuno or at least, the one that everyone went to for healing and guidence.
Personality:
When one looks at Monberaux, one will see a kind and gentle soul that has dedicated himself to be a doctor. He always make sure to speak soft-spoken words to those he interacts with but especially to his patients. He puts those that are under his care first which causes him to become very protective of them. When his patients are threatened, all gentleness and soft-spoke demeanor is gone and quickly replaced with a loud speech and an iron resolve that will harm them. Nothing.
Moneberuax views all life as a very precious thing and is willing to offer his service to all: Beastmen, Mithra, Hume, Galka, Tarutaru, Elvaan and animals alike. He doesn't care for wealth as all his services for free. Healing and taking care of his patients without charging to help ease their mind with that tiny aspect. And the patient WILL accept his care for free! Even you, Mr. Random Monster. You will also be treated for free as well.
Monberaux is a very private person and one that can be trusted to keep secrets with. Though he is private, it could and it could not be surprising that he gathers information to help others in the future for when the information will be useful. Another aspect of his that is worth mentioning is his ability to appear to be calm in almost all situations. Allowing a moment notice of surprise to slip through before giving the appearance of being calm again.
What your character can offer:
Monberaux is a doctor whose specialty is disease and most types of sickness. He is also a Elvaan and because he is one, he has really good hearing as well as being physically powerful and durable.
What items will they be bringing with them?
He is going to have mostly mediciences and herbs on his person.
Third-Person Sample:
It was a normal day for him, his clinic filled with patients that needed his care and his nurses helping with the care. For all that it seemed to Monberuax, it was indeed quite the normal day for him. That is until the ducal guard came in, bringing a pale and sickly looking boy. The Elvaan doctor looks towards the captain and smile a small smile. Monberaux would not turn a patient away, no matter what.
With a quick turn and a few orders to the nurses later, the boy was on the cleanest bed in the clinic. Now, it was time to chase out the guards to let him perform his work without someone looking over his shoulder. A simple task in and of itself as all the Elvaan had to do was to give the captain a look. Once the guards were gone, a wooden chair was carefully and quietly placed next to the bed.
As gently and as carefully he possibly can, Monberuax reaches over to start performing the examination on the child. Dark brows furrow when he cannot seem to find anything physically wrong with him. Why will not he wake up? This fact puzzled the Elvaan doctor more then anything but he continued the examination. Hours flew by and still nothing. Not a single thing was wrong with the boy as far as his medical knowledge went; yet he still gave no sign of consciousness.
This troubled him greatly. If was nothing wrong with this boy, why wouldn't he wake up? A knock on the door breaks him out of his train of thought and Monberuax slowly stands up, his body aching from the long examination and watching over the child. Those brown eyes go to take in the sight of the sleeping child one more time before he heads to the door, knowing it was the captain on the other side of the door, wanting a report on the condition of the child. It would be best not to keep the captain waiting any longer for the report on the child.
First-Person Sample:
*The communicator flares to life with the sound of a man shouting as if he was in an arguement.*
Manhandle my pat-- Where am I?
*He pauses for a moment to go into deep thought and looking around from the sounds of it.*
What's this?..... 'Use.....this'? Just what is this? ....Why does everything look like a war happened here?
*The sound of footsteps can be heard as he goes to start exploring a little.*
There is no life in anything that I can see.
*He stops as something dawns on him.*
The boy! Where is he?.... No... It wouldn't be good for that child to be here.
*Soon a low growl can be heard in the background and more growls join in the first growl before the communicator shuts off.*
