What not to say or what to say to the seriously ill

Interesting interview on today's Talk of the Nation about what not to say to someone who is very ill.  Bruce Feiler wrote the essay behind the cut on the New York Times.  For example, he pointed out that instead of saying "What can I do to help?" you should offer to do the most mundane but necessary tasks in their life, and then really show up to ( Read more... )

My best friend's Dad has 12-20 weeks left to live. I've been struggling with how to interact with him properly, and this truly helps!
