i think the purpose of punishment is to make people repent. but people have got too carried away with the whole thing...and it is no longer affective because the punished are trated without any sympathy therefore they have no respect for the laws-makers as they see them as agressors.

the redhead was phscologically changed by her childhood. throughout it she had been taught to show no mercy by the actions of her parents, therefore she had troubles if she could at all, realizing what shes doing. sure there is a thing called a conctious, (if thats how you spell it), but often times even that can be clouded by years of circumstances.
naturally people can change, but not as fast as in a couple of days realizing mistakes. to go against years of what her parents taught her is almost unhumanly possible in the timespan that was needed to do that for her. may i reccomend the book "a child called it", which talks about a kid who was abused years and years by his psycho mom. yet he always defended her because of some weird thing thats inside of all kids, and only started seeing what she had been doing him was 100% wrong after years of reflection.
just my opinions, whatever. im not looking for a conflict, i hate drama after all.

I still think that at some point in your life you have to stand up and take responsiblity for your actions no matter what your upbringing.
