Acts of kindness...

My New Year's resolution was to do at least one act of kindness each day. Come to think of it, it seems kinda small, but I like to keep myself in check for being kind.

So far:
01/01/2007: I washed dishes while babysitting and that wasn't a required task of me.

It really is the extra thing we do that will be appreciated, like washing those dishes. I hired a cleaning lady when I first injured my back and every week when she was done with her chores and I paid her, she would pick up the dog's water dish and food dish and wash them out, dry them and put them back. I was always impressed with that gesture.

Putting away shopping carts...That is a nice thing to do especially if the weather is especially cold, hot or rainy. When I was a girl (200 yrs ago) in NY you could not take a cart away from the store. There were poles coming out of the ground blocking you. You had to leave your cart and drive your car up to it to get your food, if it was still there by the time you got there.

Ohh, how did you injure your back? I hope you're feeling better now, though. Did it have to do with the 40 hours of surgical anesthesia you stated on your profile? Yes, it's the tiniest nice things people do that I notice, also. But sometimes I don't feel like it's not enough...well for me, anyway.

Haha, that is a good idea, though people were probably fustrated that they had to drive their car up to get their groceries.

I hope you're having a wonderful day so far. <3
