Is this real?

[Kotomi hesitates for a moment before continuing.]

I acknowledge the existence of parallel worlds, but...I didn't think it was...theoretically possible to get transported to one. Then again, there is much we as humans do not understand about the ways of our big, big universe...I suppose that is why we ache to learn.

E-eh..?

[ Nadeko sounds a little surprised. ]

Did you already know about places like this before you came here? Um.. I'm sure there's never been someone like that before here..

My parents were theoretical physicists, and I intended to finish up the research they left behind...that included the theory of parallel worlds branching out from our own.

[She clears her throat, and appears to grow a bit more confident.]

I have never seen one until now. Furthermore, it seems odd. Based on the theory of a new world branching out from every decision we make, this world would have to have been created far in the past...but my question is how? And...how are we even here?

Hmm.. I'm not so sure if it's a decision someone made.. w-well, unless it could be the decision to pull us all in here, they made that one for sure, ehehe..

[ Her laughter is somewhat awkward and nervous. ]

[Quietly.]

You're not familiar with quantum mechanics, are you?

Man, I'm wondering the same thing. But, you know, with less science mumbo jumbo crap. I mean, this world doesn't even make sense-- how does it exist?

In layman's terms...it branched out from a decision made sometime in the past.

Hypothetically...the mayor of this town wanted everything to remain the same, and so it did. In this world, at least. In the world that would be called "real" it went on in time as it normally would.

[She hesitates now.] But...this is just my theory, sir. I find it personally very odd of how we were transported here from our own universes.

Yeah, alright. So they must have some real fucking amazing scientists up here or something. I mean, from where I come from, our engineers can make machines that help us recover faster and transport us from place to place almost fucking instantly. Must be some damn good science.

....Not too sure about that tricky "universe" thing you got there, though.

Oh, that's fascinating. At some later time, you'll have to tell me more about the engineers of yours.

And...[She thinks for a moment.] It's quantum mechanics, sir.

It's possible, but it's definitely not an easy task. The scale it seems to be happening on exceeds anything I've ever seen.

((OOC: just a note--I know very, very little about physics and quantum mechanics and all of that. So my responses might seem dumbed down or inacurate though I'm trying to look up things as I type.

You...you have observed pan-dimensional travel, Miss?

Only rarely. Interplanetary and temporal travel are a lot more common.

[Can you hear her gasp? Because she's amazed beyond belief. And oh, so very happy.]

That's...that's incredible. The people of my world would only be able to dream of such a thing.

[When Kotomi decides to look into Yamame's room...she's going to come upon what she might consider a horrid sight.]

[The room is dark, the shutters kept close. If a light is turned on or the blinds opened Kotomi will be treated to a room that is heavily coated in spider webs, mostly in the corners of the room, and around/underneath furniture.]

[Kotomi may also notice a rather large number of spiders that will skitter off to their hiding places....and at the epicenter of it all a young blonde girl sleeping on the bed wrapped in spider webs as well. She doesn't appear to be dead, but she is sleeping soundly.]

[Well, um...she's more confused than scared, to be honest. Really the only things that scare Kotomi are other people being loud and rude.]

[So she slowly enters the room, making sure to not step on any of the spiders, or tangle herself in the webs.]

Um...hello? [She pokes the girl on the bed gently.] A-Are you awake?
