i put in the ground a few new hazelnut babies that i got from the arbor day foundation. i had put in a couple of them from some cheap plant wharehouse place when i first moved in, but they've been struggling. now that the new ones are all leafing out nicely i can see that the first two do not have the same leaves as the new ones. a little

i think they may be two more english walnut trees. they look a bit different from the pecan leaves (a little darker and glossier) but do look just like the walnuts. always assuming that the pecan and walnuts really are pecans and walnuts. they all came from the same place. :) i'll move them, before autumn, to two edge of the garden spots, where they can grow big.
