i toooootally feel the exact same way. i hate holidays now. my one grandma died & then when the second one died, my dad's side of the family turned into huge assholes so now holidays consist of me, my mom & dad, & my boyfriend. my other grandpa that we do talk to is in florida. so yeah, i can definitely relate to this. but you made a good point.. family can eventually be replenished.

i wish there were some way of just wiping thanksgiving off the calendar completely. terrible day every year without fail, especially when a family member who you associate with the holiday is gone. thursday was one year to the day.
