My grandmothers death really didn't affect me as I had thought it would but God I am missing her today. Thanksgiving was always a huge thing at her house.Back in the day we would need the extra leaf added to the table and another table added on at the end plus people sitting on the couch because there were so many of us. i toooootally feel the exact same way. i hate holidays now. my one grandma died & then when the second one died, my dad's side of the family turned into huge assholes so now holidays consist of me, my mom & dad, & my boyfriend. my other grandpa that we do talk to is in florida. so yeah, i can definitely relate to this. but you made a good point.. family can eventually be replenished.

i wish there were some way of just wiping thanksgiving off the calendar completely. terrible day every year without fail, especially when a family member who you associate with the holiday is gone. thursday was one year to the day.
