Flashlights seemed like a better choice than the type of laterns Eleanor was used to. They shed more light for one thing. And she'd purposely chosen one that put out a lot of light. Hopefully that would help make Leda more comfortable about the whole thing ( Read more... )

Leda was nervous, but otherwise felt good. Her surrender to her addiction had been conditional. She only drank enough to keep the withdrawal at bay. Not enough for drunkeness or more.

And please ignore, or at least forgive the fact that she was wearing a high collared shirt. It was a fashion statement, really.

Like if they got hopelessly lost and had to wait for daybreak before they could find their way back? She couldn't at the moment think of another reason why they would stop, in the woods, at night.

"Oh, that sounds cool." she nodded. "So uh, where are we going?"

They wouldn't get lost. Eleanor had a little trick if it came to that. "Wherever you want. There's a path that cuts through the woods and goes over to the cabins site, I believe. We could do that if you like."

And she figured staying on a walkway would probably be more comfortable for Leda rather than just trapising through the underbrush.
