I've been working over the last 3-4 years to apply to medical school. Last night, at 10 PM, I got an email indicating that my application was successful. To one of the top schools in the entire country! It's ranked significantly higher than #20, but in the interests of preserving anonymity for local friends... I'll not mention which one. The

Thanks. figent_figary mentioned to me (after the fact) that applying to only a school of this top tier and expecting to get in on the first try was incredibly ballsy. Good thing I thought it was just ambitious when I was doing it. ;)

Oddly enough, that is exactly what I did when I applied to law school, too. It's the only place I applied, and I got in on the first try. Not sure what I would have done if I hadn't, but fortunately I didn't have to figure it out...

yay! that's great. good job. and if my other half were to get into the grad program at, um, the somewhat nearby rival school, we might be seeing a lot more of each other :)

That would be lovely! Especially at football games, where we would be contractually obligated to throw eggs at one another or some such. :P
