My bestest, dearest, friend on planet earth is dead. Partied Mon. night, had alcohol, ecstasy, came home, kissed his mom goodnight, went to sleep, and didn't wake up. This is gut-ripping pain. There are four of us that are like family--Sam, Sandi, Phil, and me. Now one of our quartet is gone. At least he didn't feel any pain on the way out

My deepest sympathy and condolences. It's never easy losing someone. Be gentle with yourself, and let yourself be sad. There is a wonderful book on loss called "Surviving the Loss of a Love" and it's helped me a lot. Part of him will always be with you, too, b/c what is remembered lives.
