Well, in my version, things are a little different, and the tin man's son was the bravest, most handsome man she'd ever seen.

I just died from an overload of Awesome!Jeb.

And I did NOT get misty at DG's 'Brave man, Good man, Tin Man' speech. Nope. *shakes head*
And that ending! Guh!

And to think I almost didn't even put Jeb in this story! But then he forced his way in, insisted that he would make an awesome big brother and proceeded to braid Lily's hair and tell her jokes. *huggles Jeb*

My love for Jeb kinda hit me like a freight train about two weeks ago...

And I'm okay with that...

Though, I must admit that I got a little confused as to how Jeb got to Kansas as well...

Are we gonna get a reunion? By chance? *wibbles*

Like I told nawag1r, Jeb being in Kansas is a whole different side story that I didn't get to expand on here because I wanted to keep the focus of the story on Cain.

Reunion?

*tries to resist the wibble, then spots towel-clad Cain and fails*

I can't promise it in any kind of timely fashion, but I'll give it a try.

I actually had more planned out for Jeb in this story, but because the focus was supposed to be on Cain I decided to cut it back. So if you notice that it says Jeb had been away from the resistance fighters for three years while DG and Lily have been on the other side for five, it's not a typo, just a side story that didn't get addressed here :)

Amazing job! I'm so glad we finally got to see DG and find out what the deal was with them being separated and all. Lily is absolutely adorable! And I love how Jeb is with her and his storytelling!

Yay for DG coming back!!! Can't wait to see their reunion! Please update soon!

In my first draft of the story, I ended it after the kiss, but after running it by a friend of mine from another fandom, she insisted that I had to give them a happy ending and write the reunion.

This is only a one-shot, so I really wasn't planning on writing more, but I'm so glad that you enjoyed it :)
