Stupid Black Dog.

Stupid.

Stupid.

Stupid...

Castiel liked that word. It fit so many things. Most of all, right now, was Dean's hellhound.

Dean felt worn right down to his bones, and not from anything cool like fighting off a vampire, no. Dean was in the throes of a much nerdier fatigue, namely the kind spawned by too many hours staring at medical books followed by too many hours spent staring at math books followed by too many hours doing the things found in medical books.

When Black Dog saw Dean, he made a run for it, tail wagging gleefully.

Dean didn't even try to fend Dog off, just let the giant mutt bowl him the rest of the way over. Flat on his back on the boardwalk with a tongue on his face was as good a place to laugh his ass off as any.

"Oh god," he wheezed into Dog's wet fur. "Did you do this? Tell me you did this."
