Castiel wakes with a bad headache, a dry mouth, and when he lifts his hands to cover his eyes from the sun his right is weighted down, heavy. He groans, a soft sound, but even that hurts. There's jungle around him and a warm body he's wrapped himself around.

It's been ages since she's had a hangover, but wine'll do that to you. It doesn't help her head or her gut that she's tangled up with someone. Some guy Who the hell...

"Oh, shit," she groans as she tries to untangle herself. No, no, hell fucking NO, she did not end the party with some strange guy.

She turns her head and breathes in and beneath the stale sweat that has the remnants of liquor bleeding through, she can smell a man. A familiar man. Thinking of his name makes her head hurt. Bits and pieces come back to her. The drinks. The chocolate. The wedding. The kiss. Oh, crap...the kiss.

"...Castiel?" she guesses, and hopes to Christ she's right. Not that it'll make it any better, but at least they could have a laugh about it all. At least it would mean she hadn't lost any of the night before.

"It's me," Castiel answers, giving the hand tied to his a brief squeeze. He isn't sure what's expected of him in this situation, but for starters he tries to help her sit up, feeling an anxious warmth underneath the nausea.

He looks at her for a long moment, and when he can contain it no longer, blurts out, "we're married."

"Oh, honey. We're not married. That was just a party thing," she tells him gently, instantly leery of the gentle squeeze and the tone of his voice.

Castiel frowns, confused. No matter how scrambled the previous day had been, he is certain the man had said they were man and wife. Someone had said they were man and wife.

"But we can't just undo our vows," he says, an uncertain edge to his voice.
