P.S. A placebo is administered by psychologists and tells the patients receiving it that it's a drug when it's really not. For example in the movie Space Jam, Bugs Bunny labels a water bottle "Jordan's Secret Stuff." In this case, water is the placebo. The Looney Tunes believe that it's "secret stuff " that will help them win the basketball game. The word comes from psychology, not biology.
