I just!!!! I was aware when I read the 3rd book that people were really disappointed with the end and thought it wasn't as good, so I kind of had an eye out for what that might be, but I thought the story was so engaging and painfully real at the end - what do they expect Katniss to be? She is not a willing hero, she volunteered to save her family, and the fact that all her volunteering led to was Prim dying from friendly fire - HOW IS SHE SUPPOSED TO TRUST ANYONE

and Gale was a horror show. I mean, he was dedicated to the revolution, he was everything the people wished/thought Katniss would be, but in the end he became in a sense what he hated - but war is war and revolutions are violent and they make sacrifices. You can't make that kind of change without doing ugly things. This line is my revolution feelings: i used to think i was not like them, but i'm beginning to have my doubts, my doubts about it. Very "meet the new boss, same as the old boss" / "the king is dead, long live the king

I think I hated it not because of what Katniss became - because it was completely realistic and right that she fell apart - but the fact that Prim was killed. JUST, WAY TO TEAR APART THE WHOLE MEANING OF THIS WHOLE ENTIRE BOOK SERIES. I just hated that SO MUCH. I don't care if it was realistic. Let Katniss have her sister, JFC. You don't kill someone's Sammy! You just d o n ' t
